Local. On purpose.
killingtonpico.net is a free guide to what’s happening along Route 4, built and run in Killington by Slope Space LLC.
Why it exists
Every town on this road has its own chamber, its own calendar, and its own Facebook page. If you are staying in Killington and want to know what’s on in Woodstock Saturday night, or you run a shop in Bridgewater and want the people in Rutland to know about your sale, there has not been one place to look.
This is that place. One calendar for Rutland City, Mendon, Killington, Bridgewater, Woodstock, and Quechee, and a directory of the businesses that make the region worth visiting.
Where events come from
Most listings are pulled automatically, about every 30 minutes, from the public calendars of venues and organizations in the six towns, including Killington Resort, the Paramount Theatre, Billings Farm & Museum, VINS Nature Center, Long Trail Brewing, the Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce, and Killington Road music venues. Each listing links back to the organizer, who owns the details.
Community events are added by hand after a quick review. If something is wrong, email info@slopespace.com and we will fix it.
How listings work
Business listings are free. Nobody pays to rank higher, and the directory is sorted by town and name, not by who spent the most. Business of the Month rotates through all six towns.
The site is designed to be easy to read for everyone: the type is Atkinson Hyperlegible, made by the Braille Institute for low-vision readers, and the colors come from a palette built to stay distinguishable with common types of color blindness. Every town also carries a three-letter code so color is never the only cue.
